AI Strategy Consulting

A fixed-price consulting engagement — up to 8 hours of senior work that turns “we should be using AI” into a costed, buildable plan: which processes, which models, what it will cost to run, and what to build first. It is written by engineers who ship AI systems for a living, for a company that has served 200+ clients across ten years — and you can pay and book it online today.

Not sure this is the right size yet? Start with the free 30-minute session: we look at where money and hours actually leak in your operation, and tell you honestly whether AI is the fix. You keep the notes either way.

Four boardrooms, one conversation

The pressure to “do something with AI” is real; the plan usually is not. These are the rooms we keep being invited into.

N-01

The board wants an AI answer by next quarter

Someone senior has asked what the company is doing about AI, and the honest answer is “experimenting”. Three pilots are running, none owned by anyone, none with a number attached. What is needed is not another pilot — it is a defensible written answer: here is where AI pays in our business, here is what it costs, here is the order to build it in.

N-02

The team tried ChatGPT and stalled at the demo

A few people use it daily and swear by it; nobody can say what it changed in the P&L. The gap between “impressive in a browser tab” and “wired into the workflow where the hours are actually spent” is an engineering gap, and it is exactly the gap a strategy has to bridge — with named systems, data sources and owners.

N-03

A vendor quoted six figures for an AI transformation

The proposal is long on vision and short on which process, which model, which integration, what it costs to run per month. Before signing anything that size, you want an independent read from people who build these systems — and who are not the ones selling you the transformation.

N-04

Compliance and IT keep saying no, and they have a point

Customer data in a third-party model, hallucinated answers reaching customers, nobody able to explain a decision after the fact. A real AI strategy treats those as design constraints with named mitigations — where a model may decide, where it may only draft, and where it does not belong at all.

Where strategy gets argued

The useful part of a strategy engagement is not the document — it is the argument. Volumes, error costs and honest feasibility, defended in a room by the people who will build it.

02Deliverables, not adjectives

What the engagement covers

Up to 8 hours of senior work, a fixed price, and a written deliverable you could hand to a different vendor and have built. That last property is the test of whether a strategy is real.

Assessment of your product and processes

We interview the people doing the work and map where paid hours concentrate: data entry, document handling, reporting, support, scheduling. Each candidate gets a volume, an error cost and an hours figure — because the case for AI is made in those numbers, not in the technology.

You get: a ranked map of your processes with the AI-addressable ones marked and sized.

Prioritised AI opportunities, honestly stated

For each candidate: can current models actually do this reliably, what data does it need, what does it cost to run at your volume, and what happens when the model is wrong? Some answers will be “not yet” — a strategy that never says this is a sales document.

You get: a feasibility verdict per candidate, with running-cost estimates at your volumes.

The build sequence

What to build first — usually the automation with boring, provable ROI, not the flashy assistant — what follows it, and what each stage needs from the previous one. Sequenced so every stage pays for the next and nothing depends on a moonshot landing.

You get: a staged roadmap with cost ranges, durations and dependencies per stage.

Boundaries in plain language

Where a model decides, where it drafts for a human, where it is banned. What goes into third-party APIs and what never leaves your infrastructure. How outputs are checked and by whom. Written so your compliance owner can sign it, not just engineering.

You get: a one-page boundary policy your compliance owner can approve.

The costed, buildable plan itself

Everything above lands in one written document, priced: build cost ranges per stage, monthly running costs, the team shape needed, and the measurable target each stage is accountable to.

You get: the plan, as a document you own — buildable by us or by anyone else.

03The path, with dates

How the 8 hours are spent

Paced so your team spends hours on it, not days.

STEP 01

Kickoff and inventory

Structured interviews with the people who own the processes — sales ops, finance, support, delivery. We collect volumes, systems, file samples and the honest version of how work actually flows.

2–3 hours with your team
STEP 02

Feasibility and cost modelling

We test the risky assumptions against your real data samples — extraction accuracy, classification quality, latency — and model running costs at your volumes. Engineering desk work, on our clock.

STEP 03

Sequencing and boundaries

The roadmap takes shape: first build, second build, what waits. The boundary policy is drafted and walked past your compliance or data owner while it is still cheap to change.

STEP 04

The plan, delivered and defended

You receive the written plan and we present it to whoever you choose — founders, board, IT. Every recommendation carries a number and a reason, and we defend both under questioning.

04Evidence · checkable

Proof, not claims

The plan is written by the team that builds these systems afterwards — agents, voice agents, document pipelines, process automation. That is the difference between strategy from practitioners and strategy from observers.

A fixed $900 buys up to 8 hours of senior AI-strategy work ending in a costed, buildable plan — the alternative is usually a quarter of exploratory meetings that ends in a slide deck.

Every project starts with a plan

Every project starts with a written plan. This engagement is that discipline, sold as a product — a fixed price, up to 8 hours of senior work, a document you own.

The questions buyers actually ask

Why pay for strategy when vendors give it away free?

A free strategy is a sales document — its conclusion is decided before the analysis starts. This engagement is paid precisely so its conclusions can be independent: we make nothing from recommending a build you do not need, and the plan is buildable by any competent team, not just us.

What if the answer is that AI does not fit our business yet?

Then the plan says so, names the conditions under which that changes, and usually still finds two or three process automations worth doing with plain software. You will have paid for a defensible no instead of a six-figure maybe — companies have saved entire budgets on that sentence.

Who actually does the work — consultants or engineers?

Engineers who build AI systems in production: agents, voice agents, document pipelines, process automation. Fluvius has served 200+ clients over ten years, and system design is signed off by a senior architect on every project. Nobody whose only deliverable is slides touches this work.

How much of our team’s time does it take?

Around three to four hours: the kickoff interviews, one working session mid-way, and the closing presentation. The desk work in between is ours, not yours.

Do you need access to our systems or data?

Read-only samples are enough — a handful of the documents, tickets or records the candidate processes actually handle, shared under NDA. We test feasibility against real samples because that is where AI projects live or die; we do not need production access.

What happens after the plan is delivered?

The plan is yours either way. Some clients build stage one with us — often as an Agent Pilot in 30 days — some build in-house, some take it to another vendor. The plan is written to survive all three paths; that is the test that it is real.
