The brief

A civil-engineering firm building machine location, guidance and control systems needed to modernize the software that maintains and operates tunnel-drilling equipment — a demanding, safety-critical, hardware-in-the-loop environment.

What we built

We designed a client–server architecture: a C++ graphical application on the operator side and a server that talks directly to the hardware. It handled data and calibration storage over EEPROM and flash, Bluetooth/Zigbee interfaces, 3D graphics and a touch-first UI built for gloved hands underground.

Key features
C++ HMI for tunnel-boring machines
EEPROM / flash calibration storage
Bluetooth / Zigbee hardware interfaces
Touch UI designed for field use
