The work

We researched the most cost-efficient, technically optimal approach to real-time face tracking — measuring distance and head angle relative to the camera — to power the perception layer of an AI video tutor.

We prototyped with OpenCV alone, then benchmarked OpenCV + TensorFlow against OpenCV + MediaPipe. MediaPipe won on accuracy, stability and speed, and we exposed it behind a clean API for the wider AI stack. Every choice was measured, not guessed.
